Sunday, November 27 - Schoolies 2005

This is going to be my big long post about schoolies. Problem lies with the fact that my energy is seriously drained and I don't know if I will be able to write about it properly. But I know that if I put it off i'll probably never do it. So here goes.

Wait brb, got to go to the bathroom.

I'm back, but now I want to go and put dinner in the oven, brb.

SCHOOLIES...

uncut

Yeah I know... honestly there isn't that much to cut out really. Lets start at the very beginning.

Saturday 19th November 2005
Alicia and her mum dropped round in the morning to drop off a pair of my pants that Alicia had borrowed. I showed them my formal photos and then they left. I went into the lounge room, sat down and asked mitchell what the time was. '12:20' he says. '12:20?!?' I say. 'yeah' he says. So now i'm freaking out in the most serious of ways because I said that I would be at Stephanie's house at 12:45 and I hadn't even packed anything yet. So I start running around the house grabbing things that I need to pack, Mitchie runs into my room and starts putting stuff into my suitcase. We finally squeeze everything into my baby suitcase and are almost ready to jump into the car and race to Stephy's house when I realise that I haven't packed any shoes, socks or underwear. So i'm freaking. going "omg, we're gonna be late and it's not even gonna fit". Then, the phone rings, so I run to get it and it's Stephy and I'm like "omg i'm so sorry i'm coming, i'll be there soon" and she's like "wilson, it's 11:45" and i'm like "aah f*@&%#!@". So anyway I took everything out of my baby suitcase and borrow mitchie's bigger suitcase, put in some shoes, socks and underwear and all the other things I would have forgotten. Funnily enough I still ended up being late to Stephy's house.

So at about 1 Stephanie, her mother, her grandmother, and I piled into the car at her house and started driving. We stopped at the big Maccas in the suburb with the train station between the one beginning with P and the one beginning with N. Hahahaha. It just-so-happened to be McHappy day and Nova was there and so there was loudness and face painting. Mwahahaha. This guy dragged Stephanie and I up to dance, we made pathetic attempts before running back to our seats and hiding under the table. Maybe if there were more than 7 people dancing... He asked how old we were. I told him that I was 18 and Stephanie was 17 and he said "no, really" He was genuinely shocked. Not sure whether to be offended or not.

After being McHappied we drove the rest of the way to the beach house. We were the last people to arrive which was unfortunate because the boys had taken all the beds. Which kinda cheezed me off because on more than four separate occasions at school Steph and I tried to organise the sleeping arrangements because we needed to bring up our own linen, anyway the boys would have nothing of it and allowed Stephanie and I to take a room with two single beds, because Stephanie actually needs a bed because of her back. So when we arrived we had to kick Rishi and Chris out of their room which caused numerous comments about the un-chivalrousness of Australian boys [Since Rishi is british and Chris is South-African].

So that was that, the parents finally left sometime in the afternoon and the group went swimming in the lake, please dont let me think about the gross stuff that was in that water. It was good anyway.

Argh - I'm hearing banging noises. =S

We swam around for a while and then went back to the house, I had a cold shower before our bbq dinner. Drank something funky from stephen's fun-flask.

We didn't really go to bed until much after midnight, which then made it all the more shocking that people were awake at 8am the next morning. Much earlier than I usually would wake up. Anyway Sunday was Lynda's birthday so I had given her her present at midnight the night before (which is the coolest time to give presents). Anyway that morning Lynda and I had planned to go for a drive to find and book a restaurant for dinner that night because we planned to go out for her birthday. I took a walk down the beach while waiting for Lynda to have a shower. It was kinda weird. I went and sat down by myself watching the beach, then Daniel came and sat on my left, then Leah came and sat on my right, then Ashley and Millie came and went sunbaking behindish me. Chris, Rishi (and maybe Jasha and Peter) were already down in the surf. So when I got back Lynda, Stephen and I went driving. Woooo driving! fun fun fun!

Anyway we found a nice restaurant, Lynda got four phone calls on her mobile while she was driving and I got to answer them all. "Hello Lynda's phone, Katharine speaking". One was from her mum wishing her Happy birthday. One was from Sarah saying that she was lost and couldn't find the beach house (Sarah was originally coming up just for the sunday but ended up staying the night and leaving on monday). One was from Peter's mother asking us to get him to call her because she needed some info from him bout Art express. And the last call was from Sarah again saying that she couldn't find the Spotlight we said that we would meet her at to show her how to get home. We found a nice restaurant and booked for 14 for 7pm that night. We finally found Sarah at the RSL after about 20 minutes of "can you see the train station? i'll meet you in the carpark?" "wait, thats not the train station, what about the stadium?" "what stadium?" etc etc etc.

Dinner that night was very nice, I had Lasagne (i'm kinda like garfield), Jasha and Stephen each had a meatlovers pizza and ended up tying in their 'who can eat the most without exploding' contest. Keira and I had conversations about kitchen horror stories where they 'prepare' food. Read: reheat in the microwave.

I just remembered this funny thing that happened at dinner. Let me set the scene. Lol. See Lynda was sitting on my left, Stephen was on my right and Jasha was on the right of him. Across the table from me was Keira, across from Stephen was Rishi, and across from Jasha was Daniel. Thats all you need to know for this story. Lynda mentioned something about the present she got from Daniel, I think she said that she liked it. Daniel replied to her. I then turned to Lynda and asked "what did he get you?" and she told me he got her bath stuff from the body shop... hehehehe, its funny coz its the exact same thing that he got for me. But wait for the kicker. I then said "oh okay cool" before it clicked that we both received the same present, then someone else further down the left of the table spoke to Lynda and she became distracted. Meanwhile there was a conversation going on between Rishi and Stephen and Jasha I think. hehehehe. I am talking to Keira now but at the same time I notice Daniel lean forward a bit. He says something like "Oops, Katharine just asked Lynda what I gave Lynda for her birthday, and I gave them the same thing. Thats embarassing" (I really dont remember exactly what he said but it was that kinda message anyway). I pretended I didn't hear, but it was really funny. =) Honestly I dont actually mind.

After dinner we had 'the' night. You know that big night when almost everybody gets completely wasted... well we had one of those. I'm gonna summarise it because it's hard to write out a whole play-by-play. There was an interesting game of spin the bottle going on outside. I think everybody kissed everybody (who was playing - Lynda, Rishi, Jasha, Sarah, Chris, Ashley, Millie, Peter), well the boys didn't kiss each other, and Millie didn't kiss any boys because she has a boyfriend, but everyone else kissed everyone else. Jasha did a lot of dancing without his shirt on. "what girl can resist these abs?" hehehehe. The later in the night it got the more stressful it got. Lynda was crying before she went to bed saying "i'm sorry for getting so drunk, i'm sorry", but once we got her in bed she just dozed off. Chris ended up spending over an hour in the bathroom throwing up pretty much everything. Which annoyed my muchly because I really needed to use the bathroom at the time. The other bathroom was taken up by Rishi who was okay at first, after getting stylishly drunk, but then worried us because he had a fever and was shaking and trying to throw up. Keira and Michael stayed up with him all night because we just couldn't get him to go to sleep. He's a very funny drunk tho. Lol. He went to the bathroom and then quickly ran out saying "omg there's this massive spider" and it was like a daddy longlegs and it was really small. Keira and I just stood there laughing at him and he was asking us why we were laughing and we're like "no reason".

I think I went to bed at about 3am that night, kinda annoyed at having to look after drunk people, I get grumpy when I get tired. I wrote an angry message on a piece of paper which I finally tore up yesterday (sat).

Still, everyone was awake before me on monday morning, I discovered a new breakfast... nutella on toast. Probably very very bad for me, but at least I ate breakfast almost all week. I skipped it one day and another day I had a pancake.

So the days are all blurring together now... let me jump things. On Monday morning I got up and got changed straight away and went down to the beach for a swim. Yummy.
We spent a lot of the swimming part of the week in Michael's blow-up raft thingey, Jasha was muscle-man rower pretty much permanently, which was nice. We rowed around the entire little island thingey (which is bigger than it looks) and I only fell off the boat once, and peter pushed me off another time (=P).

We also rented movies... Blade Trinity (8/10), friday after next (3/10 - I didn't pay much attention), house of flying daggers (8/10 - didn't actually watch at the time but have seen before), the village (8/10 - gets strangly better every time I saw it, I absolutely detested it the first time I saw it), the incredibles (9/10 - no doubt), assault on precinct 13 (didn't actually watchi it).

The night the group watched Assault on Precinct 13 was also the night that Keira, Leah, Lynda and I played monopoly (Lynda quit after a while), wooo I won! I also drank an entire cruiser! Go me! First time i've finished an alcoholic drink by myself! Okay so it took me three hours and an entire game of monopoly but then I hung out outside with Keira, Leah, Stephen, Ash, Millie and Jasha in the little rain. Jasha, Ashley and Millie were very drunken, the two girls were putting on lipgloss and kissing Jasha and Stephen all over the face and running in and kissing Rishi and Chris. Then they spent some time giving Jasha hickies, only one stayed, the one from Millie. While they were outside doing that Leah, Keira and I went for a walk at the beach in the darkness, I was terrified Lol.

Want to sleep, will continue this post tomorrow. I'm actually in the middle of that last paragraph still. Stories to tell you about.

Notes:
- The respect I had for peter has turned into 'what respect?'. I will not forget what he said to me even if I do forgive him for it at some point. And a big thank you goes out to Stephen for telling the entire group exactly what was said the next morning while I hid in bed pretending to be sleeping.
