Thursday, July 31 - Uranium Mining on our side of the river... "You said that we should think about our children. The way our community is going we aren't gonna have any children. Our side of the river is mostly made up of the female gender, all the men have gone into the city to find jobs. Us women can't do that. We can't afford to just pack up our children and go to the city. And we can't afford to stay either. There is no way for us to make an income. There is nobody to turn too. Our houses are worth squat and selling them would be a waste of time. If this mine goes ahead it will bring in workers who will need places to live. They will invest in our town, bringing money to our shops and businesses, our property values will rise, and our local economy will be boosted. We know there are risks. We know that radiation will be a problem. But we also know that this is the only option for our town to survive. If you can give us a better one go ahead, but for now, we are in support of Uranium Mining in our town. This is the town drunk, signing off"Sorry... we had this science debate forum thingey... that is my group's points basically summarised. hehehehe... anyway... Enough of that... I missed ANGEL on Tuesday... I pressed record but something happened and and it didn't work. I got soooooooo angry that I cried... seriously... Buffy and Angel are basically what drive me onward... I have mountains of homework but I know at 10:30 on Mondayd and Tuesdays I have something to start my week on a better note... I can't believe I missed it... It's soooooooo sad... I saw the beginning bit but then (for the first time in months) I decided to turn off the tv and get to sleep... I shouldn't have... So now every week i'm gonna stay up until 11:30 on Mondays and Tuesdays to make sure I see it... Two big blocks of writing... both serious... lol... crumble | 3:35 pm
